GDF - LATIN AMERICAN GEOTHERMAL DEVELOPMENT FACILITY

From its South American office in Bogotá, the Dewhurst Group manages the Geothermal Development Facility for Latin America (GDF). Formally announced by KfW in Reykjavik, Iceland, on April 25, 2016, during the World Bank/ESMAP GGDP Roundtable, the GDF is the first multidonor climate initiative to promote geothermal energy within this region. Already, the GDF has granted €50M to geothermal projects throughout Latin America, and will continue to disburse funding over its planned ten-year lifespan.

IDA Fund Management, LLC (IDA)—a US partnership between Interlink Capital Strategies and the Dewhurst Group—was competitively chosen to manage the GDF. Interlink provides financial expertise, while Dewhurst Group focuses on the approval and development of specific geothermal project initiatives identified by applicants.
